Happy Wednesday everyone!  A throwback feel today with vintage style aviator glasses, an oversized menswear-inspired plaid jacket, and a fanny pack.  I mean, belt bag (I also find it to be a great arm rest!).  I honestly didn’t think this style would make a comeback, but it’s here and it’s going strong!  The last time I wore a fanny pack was probably over 8 years ago.  It was my second (maybe my third?) attempt at being entrepreneurial.

Short story… I went to an outdoor concert and got very cold throughout the night.  I looked around to see if I could buy something to keep me warm and couldn’t find anything.  A thought crossed my mind… wouldn’t it be great if people could buy blankets at concerts on cold nights.  The next day, I found a blanket wholesaler and bought 1,000 thin fleece blankets.  I got a vendor license, rented a booth, and put up the sign.  Blanket People.  And sold 35 blankets.  What?!  35?!

It was my very first lesson in business management.  Understanding the market.  Just because I was cold couldn’t mean others were cold.  And just because it wasn’t there (blankets for sale) doesn’t mean it should be there (selling blankets).  Simply put, the need was not there.  Throughout this whole experience of selling blankets at a concert, I had a fanny pack on.  And that was the last time I wore a belt bag.

I’m glad they’re making a comeback though.  Around the waist (like what I’m doing here), through the belt loops, cross-body or as a clutch (the bag comes off the belt attachment completely), belt bags are super versatile and convenient!  They’re fun, great for travel and anytime you want to be hands-free.  Just in case you’re interested in reliving the 90’s or embracing this fun trend, below are a few of my favorite belt bags!

Thank you so much for being with me today!  As funny as it sounds, this is really my Blanket People 2.0.  Blogging and starting Wendy’s Lookbook was my forth attempt at being entrepreneurial.  I learned so much from all of the fail attempts and continue to learn everyday.  I can’t say this enough… thank you so much for being on this journey with me.  Thank you.

And those 900+ blankets?  They went to good homes.  They were donated to homeless shelters all over the San Francisco area =)

As always, thank you so much for reading!
